Welcome to the Distance Education Program for Anesthesiologists (DEPA) of the Philippine Society of Anesthesiologists. The DEPA is a hybrid distance learning program using the Moodle Learning Management System. It consists of online schooling and four traditional classroom meetings per DEPA Year. The program will introduce you to modules on the basic and advanced anesthesia education with incorporation of skills laboratory on selected topics. Research methodology starts from formulation of the research question to actual presentation of the research study. Courses on critical thinking/review and testwisemanship are added so that students can apply theoretical concepts to clinical practice through integration and collaboration of the different facets of the specialty. Continuous efforts to improve the teaching and learning processes will be foremost in our agenda to ensure that our students will pass the PBA certifying examination.
Initially you may find yourself overwhelmed with the volume of information. But once you get the hang of it, you will find learning an enjoyable experience – the DEPA way.
